Course Info

What if you knew, every single day, exactly what you needed to write in order to finish every single project you want to finish?

Every book. Every blog post. Every newsletter. Every query letter. Everything.

That’s what an editorial calendar does for you. It takes away the guesswork so you don’t have to worry about anything except what’s on the agenda for today.

And if you know exactly what you have to do today, you’re much more likely to stay on track with your goals and projects.

If that sounds awesome to you, then you’re definitely going to want to join The Plan Your Writing Year Workshop.

My Experience With an Annual Editorial Calendar:

Here’s what I want you to know.

This isn’t about stuffing your day full of as much productivity and work as humanly possible. It’s about working so smart that you blow yourself away with what you can actually accomplish without working any harder (and maybe working less hard).

It’s about training yourself to actually do the work and get things done–one small task at a time. Next thing you know, you look up and your whole project is done.

In January 2022, I wrote or edited more than 76,000 words in 61 hours. That’s an average of less than two hours a day.

I didn’t work any harder than usual. I just didn’t spend any time at all doing work that didn’t need to be done that day. Or sitting around wondering what I should work on. Zero time staring at a blank page.

Instead, I just got right to work on exactly what I needed to do.

This isn’t about hustle or working yourself into burnout. That’s not my style. We’re not working on bucket list items here. This is life. Our lives. And that means we need to learn how to manage the work.

Honestly, PYWY is nothing more than project management.

The big companies have whole departments for this kind of work. If you’re a writer, you own a small business. Why shouldn’t you employ that same policy?

How it Works:

We’re going to work together to create your personal editorial calendar.

We’ll figure out all of your projects, then work out when you’ll work on each one. In the end, you’ll have a calendar full of the exact days you’ll work on every single part of every project you want to finish between now and the end of 2022.

What’s included:

Four quarterly half-day intensives. We’ll create your editorial plan for the rest of 2022. You’ll end that workshop with your actual editorial plan completely created. And then we’ll meet again each quarter to help make sure your calendar is completely up to date.

Access to our Working Writer call, every Sunday at noon EST all year. Don’t worry, these are recorded. You can watch the replay if the time isn’t good for you.

What it costs:

The full price, when we offer this again for 2023, will be $397. The same as all of our six-month self-series classes (even though this is a year-long workshop.)

This first session is different. For one thing, we love to reward early adaptors. For another, we’re already nearly done with Q1 of 2022. Also, We’ll be offering 2023’s workshop starting with an intensive in November. So–this first run will include the check-up calls through October, or eight months instead of twelve.

Because of that, and because I really want you to see how amazing planning your entire writing year really is, we’re offering this first session for $200.
